It is time now to say goodbye to someone who has been part of our school’s heartbeat for over a decade.
Mrs. Cyndi Sims, our counselor, has made the decision to resign her duties as a CCS administrator when this year ends.
Mrs. Sims arrived the year after I did, and each year that she’s been a part of our school family, she has been given more responsibility. This is due in large part to the work ethic and organizational talent that she has consistently displayed.
She will be sorely missed by her students, her volleyball players, and her colleagues. I do know that I personally would not have survived the transition from the classroom into school administration without such an excellent thinker at my right hand.
Mr. Frey and Miss. King will be replacing her on the volleyball court, and we will begin immediately considering our options to cover her administrative and classroom duties.
At this point, I do not know exactly what our next step will be; I do know that it will be difficult to find someone that possesses both the administrative skills and the dedication to Christian education that Mrs. Sims has displayed throughout her career at Cornerstone.
Please do two things with this information:
1) Take a moment to thank Mrs. Sims for her 12 years of service to our students. Without her efforts, many students in our school would have paid more for college, and some would not have gone on to college at all.
2) Take a moment to pray for our school, as we begin the process of looking for a replacement with a very diverse skill set to take over her administrative and counseling tasks.
It has been a privilege to work with Mrs. Sims for the past twelve years; she has been an exemplary Christian woman for all of our young ladies at the school, and a dedicated employee.
She is–of course–once a Charger, always a Charger.
As always, thank you for trusting us with your children.
