CCS, School Choice, and the Alabama Accountability Act

I’ve just returned from the annual Scholarships for Kids Partner School Conference, which was a great time of learning more about effective ways to fund and market our school.

The most important development:  the recent ruling overturning the Accountability Act has been stayed while the appeal is pending. In short, this means that we are again able to accept scholarship applications, and our SGO is able to accept donations.

To register your tax credit and make your contribution to Scholarships for Kids, our partner SGO, please do the following:

  1. Download this flyer that explains the process of registering your tax credit and mailing in your donation.
  2. Mail your donation in, including this signature card that indicates your preference that the funds be used to fund scholarships at CCS (if possible).
  3. Drop us an email to to let us know your family has participated in this important program to support school choice in our state. (It is not necessary to tell us the amount of your donation; our SGO will give us an accounting of the total amount raised by our school while protecting your privacy.)

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our office or send an email .

We have also scheduled a meeting for July 1 from 7:00 to 8:00 pm to field any questions about the program, help people register, or explain how it works in more detail.  Feel free to bring other potential donors and school choice supporters–grandparents, neighbors, and community members–to that meeting.  It would be helpful if you would RSVP for that meeting, if possible.

Please help us spread the word about this program, which is the best thing to happen for private education–and education in general–for quite some time in our state.
